Madison's Starfish Hair Clip

I'm a bit late in blogging about the "Madison's Starfish Hair Clip"! But better late than never!

I want to make things that will last a while, so I've always tried to find ways to protect the little starfish from being smashed! If the tips are exposed they can very easily be broken off (even when you're being careful). I've placed the same starfish inside a scallop shell which worked pretty well. And this time I placed it in the center of a small sand dollar for a protective border. It can still be broken if you're not careful, but I think it's a lot safer than being totally exposed. I really like how it stands out against the white too. The rest of the clip is decorated with little shells, tumbled glass, a fake pearl, and a small piece of "seaweed."

I made one like this some time ago for myself and it's been my favorite thing to wear ever since! I've had lots of compliments wearing it! I think people really admire the uniqueness of it. People often wear flowers or feathers in their hair, but not so much shells, so it really stands out.

I named it after the character Madison from the 1984 movie 'Splash'! I think Daryl Hannah would look adorable wearing this in her hair!

I also have a bunch of new mermaid hair clips coming soon! Here's a little preview:
